Stone options sourced and presented against your direction. You see a full quote and sign off before anything is made.

Your ring goes into production, then comes back for a final review before it reaches you. Four to eight weeks from design approval.
TRANSPARENT PRICINGwhat does a custom ring cost?
Custom does not mean more expensive. Because the ring is built around your priorities, more of your budget goes toward the stone and materials, and less toward a pre-made design you are adapting.
Final cost depends on your centre stone, metal, and design. You will have a firm number before any work begins.

Custom rings typically begin around $4,000, with most projects between $5,000 and $20,000. The centre stone is the largest variable. Each ring is quoted individually, and we discuss your priorities and budget at the consultation before any design work begins.

Most projects run four to eight weeks from design approval to completion, depending on stone sourcing and design complexity. We recommend starting at least three months ahead of your desired date so the process stays relaxed rather than rushed.

Most people don't, and that is completely normal. We work from photographs, the jewellery she already wears, input from people close to her, and her style. You do not need a finished idea to book. You need a starting point.

Yes, and it is a large part of what this studio does. Your stones are assessed for condition and suitability before redesign begins. Older gems sometimes carry chips or internal fractures that make them too fragile for a new setting, and we will tell you honestly if that is the case.

A detailed quote comes before design begins. A deposit, typically 50 percent, moves the project into design and production. The remaining balance is due on completion.

West of Fourth is led by Melissa Mitchell, a Calgary-based designer with over a decade in bespoke design and diamond and gemstone sourcing. Melissa holds Graduate Diamonds, Coloured Stones, and Applied Jewellery Professional diplomas from the Gemological Institute of America.
