Frequently Asked Questions

Process and timeline

Most projects take 6-10 weeks, depending on complexity, stone availability, and speed of communication. We’ll confirm your expected timeline during your consultation. To allow yourself plenty of time without stress, we recommend gettign in touch with us 3 months before you need your jewellery. Rush orders may be accomodated, please reach out to us to inquire.

COnsultations

Consults may be held in person or virtually. Some clients prefer email-only communication, but most projects include at least one consultation to ensure clarity.

Quotes & Payment

All projects receive a detailed quote before design begins. A deposit (typically 50%) is required to begin work, with the balance due upon completion. Sales tax applies.

Design & Approvals

Design work (sketches or CAD renderings) only begins once your quote is approved. Two rounds of design revisions are included; additional changes may incur fees. We do not begin production until you are satisfied with the design.

Resizing

We offer one complimentary resize within three months of pickup/delivery (when possible for the design). Additional resizing may be subject to fees.

Shipping & Pickup

Pieces may be shipped securely or arranged for pickup. Once shipped, liability transfers to the client.

Repairs & Warranty

We stand behind the craftsmanship of each piece. Normal wear and tear, loss, or damage due to misuse are not covered. Complimentary inspections are available by request.

Use of Client Stones

We can incorporate heirloom stones on request. While every precaution is taken, West of Fourth cannot be held responsible for damage, breakage, or flaws in client-supplied stones.

Insurance

We recommend clients insure their jewellery through their homeowner, renter, or jewellery-specific policy.

Returns & Refunds

Because each piece is custom-made, all sales are final. No refunds or returns are accepted once production has begun.

Other Fees

Rush orders, redesigns, or changes requested after production has started may incur additional costs.
